Curriculum Highlights
The curriculum has been developed with respect for each child and
each stage of development. We believe in hands-on learning and experiences
in a child-centered environment.
Lesson plans center on positive experiences in cognitive, language,
social-emotional and physical development. Creative expression,
health and safety, and cultural diversity are also stressed. Daily
activities are developmentally appropriate and reflect a balance
of active and quiet explorations and interactions.
Infants
- Nurturing and frequent contact with consistent warm and caring
staff
- A lot of one-on-one attention and interaction
- Exposure to books, music and language
- Lots of opportunities to safely explore inside and outside
physical environment
- Balance and routine in daily life between rest and active play
- Staff work with the parents to develop healthy and consistent
routines between home and child care
- Daily documentation of activities, feeding and sleeping times
Toddlers
- Daily routine between active and quiet play
- Opportunity to choose safe, appropriate activities
- Encourage language development and self-help skills
- Daily activities to help master coordination and gross motor
development
- Outside time provided daily
- Opportunities to grow, develop and succeed in a safe, nurturing
environment
- Reading and music (singing, etc.) experiences daily
- Daily documentation of activities
Preschool
- Structured, hands-on, experiences covering all areas of the
curriculum
- Field trip enrichment/community experiences
